2020 Dairy Herd Manager Training Program PDF Flyer

The Dairy Herd Manager & Supervisor Training Program (DHMSTP) is an educational program
offering up-to-date knowledge and hands-on training on best management practices for managers
and supervisors working with large dairy herds.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! How to remain competitive is the “big” question for
dairy operations, which includes knowing the consumer expectations. The DHMSTP will be focused on developing a
system-in-place for modern large dairy herds with strong emphasis on proper cattle handling, positive human-animal
interaction, best animal welfare practices and employee safety

We will be offering three, one day trainings.
The training content will be taught in Spanish and delivered using:

Short Oral Presentations
Group Discussion
Hands-on Demonstrations

Calving Management & Neonatal Care: 6/17/20
Low-Stress Cattle Handling & Employee Safety: 8/19/20
Cattle Pain Management: 11/4/20

Participants will sign up for only the training they would like to participate in.

Cost: $150 per training: Registration fee covers meals and educational material.

Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging.
Each training will be conducted from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at the

WTAMU Piehl-Schaeffer Pavilion
