AMARILLO – A Rainwater Harvesting Workshop will be held May 13 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center, 6500 W. Amarillo Blvd. in Amarillo.
World-renowned rain harvester Billy Kniffen, retired AgriLife Extension water resource associate from Menard, will be the special guest presenter, said Austin Voyles, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture and natural resources agent for Potter County.
The program will be from 9 a.m. to noon. For those who RSVP by May 5, the cost is $20; otherwise it will be $40 at the door.
“We are so excited to get Billy Kniffen to join us and expect he will draw a quick crowd as those interested in capturing their rainwater come to hear from the expert,” Voyles said.
Voyles said space and supplies will be limited, so those planning to attend should RSVP to 806-373-0713 or Austin.firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible to reserve a spot.
Each attendee will leave with their own rain barrel, after building it on location, he said. Other topics of discussion addressed by Kniffen will be rainwater systems and irrigation success.
