Panhandle Program Details

TCFA Feedyard Technician Program 

2024 PANHANDLE Cattle Care and Handling Program
Enrollment Deadline: January 24, 2024

Program is open to High School Juniors and Seniors who have not previously participated in the program.

Registration Fee: $100
Preference will be given to High School Seniors, enrollment is limited

 

Suggested Prerequisites:

  • Principles of Agriculture, Feed and Natural Resources
  • Livestock Production
  • Veterinarian Medical Applications
  • Work Experience
  • Livestock Projects

Classroom Training:

  • Review videos available on our website prior to attending onsite training

Onsite Training:  April 2, 3, 4

  • Cattle Behavior and Handling
  • Pharmaceutical Training
  • Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center, Bushland

Testing: April 5, 9, 10

  • WTAMU Ag Ed Center
  • Written Test
  • Skills Test
  • Interview 

 

Participants who successfully complete the program by attending all trainings and achieve an average test score of 70
or above will receive a certificate
of completion and a jacket or a vest.
