About the THPPDD Lab
The Texas High Plains Plant Disease Diagnostic (THPPDD) Laboratory is a service to the people of Texas by the Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology at Texas A&M University, the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Great Plains Diagnostic Network (GPDN).
Mission
The THPPDD Lab provides accurate and timely diagnostic and testing services for diseases and mycotoxin-related issues in small grain crops, corn, sorghum, cotton, hemp, vegetables, and other field crops.

Resilient and sustainable production of crop plants that are secure against increasing threats from diseases, pests, and changing environments.

Services and Submitting Your Sample
Send your sample to the THPPDD lab for testing and diagnostics in small grain crops, corn, sorghum, cotton, hemp, vegetables, and other field crops.
Plant Diagnostic Services Statewide
Diseases of ornamental plants, turfgrasses, and trees, including fruit trees, can be diagnosed at two other Texas A&M AgriLife laboratories:
- Texas Plant Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (TPDDL) at Texas A&M University, Bryan-College Station
- Texas Plant Virus Diagnostic Laboratory (TPVDL) in Weslaco, also provide resources for plant disease diagnosis.
